Shangri La at Semington

Shangri La Drydocking 2023. So in August we made the huge trip from Foxhangers down to Semington to give her a much needed drydocking.

5 Swing Bridges and 6 locks. We set out on the Sunday late morning, and arrived there mid afternoon.

Overnighted aboard, and then into drydock about lunchtime Monday

Hull before HP washing

After HP washing

And after blacking

Apparently at some stage the hull had been done with epoxy, but had been blacked at the last docking in 2020

So the hull was generally in pretty good nick.

Weedhatch/Stern Thruster and Bow Thruster hatches opened up, cleaned and coated.

We had to have the wheelhouse folded down to get into the shed, so took advantage and did a whole lot of work on the woodwork.

A very satisfactory drydocking. Not much actual cruising happening these days though.

But check out our last trips https://www.waterwaywanderer.com – a trip down to the 3 Magpies Pub.

Hopefully this year we will mage a short trip or two between working at Foxhangers.
